To avoid a worsening climate crisis, we must limit the global temperature rise to no more than 1.5℃ above pre-industrial levels. However, with current policies, the world is set to exceed this. Kiko Network is working on building an international framework to promote international cooperation so that every country can strengthen its climate policies.

Participation in international climate negotiations such as COP

Since the COP3 (Kyoto Conference) in 1997, we have continuously participated in UN climate negotiations(COP and others) and watched the negotiation process. We also work with CAN(Climate Action Network), a global network of more than 1,900 NGOs in 130 countries, to lobby governments.

Creating policy proposals concerning international mechanisms

In climate negotiations, we are making proposals concering international mechanisms from the NGO’s standpoint, based on the findings from the climate science such as IPCC reports. We also campaign to move forward international climate negotiations, monitor the efforts of countries and companies to follow international rules, and collaborate with overseas NGOs.
